Overview

Your 88 Days ("the app") is developed by Matteo Pinzauti. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use Your 88 Days, an iOS app designed to help Working Holiday Visa holders track their 88-day and 179-day regional work requirements in Australia.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We do not run ads, sell your data, or share it with third parties beyond what is described in this policy.

Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the app's core functionality and the Friends feature.

Profile Information

We collect your display name and avatar (an emoji or custom photo) for profile personalization and to display your identity within the Friends feature.

Visa Information

We collect your visa target (88 or 179 days) and your arrival date in Australia to calculate and display your progress toward the regional work requirement.

Payslip Data

We collect payslip information you enter manually or import via PDF, including employer name, gross pay, net pay, hours worked, and work period dates. This data is used exclusively to track your progress toward the visa day requirement. Data you enter manually is stored only in your private iCloud account. When you import a payslip via PDF, the content of that document is temporarily sent to our AI processing service (see Third-Party Services) solely to extract structured data; it is not stored by the AI provider after processing.

Employer Data Contribution

When you add an employer to the app (name, address, postcode, industry, and ABN), these details — excluding any personal contact information you may add, such as phone number or email, which stay only on your device — are anonymously contributed to a shared database hosted on Firebase Firestore (Google). This contribution is not linked to your account, your identity, or any of your personal or payslip data: it only helps build a shared, community-verified list of employers, postcodes, and industries useful to other users checking their visa eligibility.

Employer contact details, payslip content, worked days, and any other personal information you enter remain private on your device and in your iCloud account, and are never included in this shared database.

Friend Code

We generate a unique, short alphanumeric friend code derived from your iCloud record ID. This code is used to identify you within the Friends feature. Your raw iCloud record ID is never stored or transmitted.

Feedback & Support Requests

If you choose to send us feedback, report a bug, or request a feature from within the app, we collect your name, email address, the reason for your message, and the message content. This information is used solely to respond to you and to improve the app.

How We Use Data

We use the data we collect solely to:

Display and calculate your progress toward your visa day requirement
Personalize your profile with your name and avatar
Enable the Friends feature, allowing you to find and connect with other Your 88 Days users
Sync your data across your Apple devices via iCloud
Extract structured information from payslip PDFs you choose to import
Respond to feedback, bug reports, and feature requests you submit

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond the above.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.

The only data shared externally is:

Your public Friends profile (friend code, display name, avatar emoji, and total counted days), stored in Firebase to enable the Friends feature.
Employer details you add (name, address, postcode, industry, and ABN — excluding any personal contact information), contributed anonymously to a shared Firebase database, not linked to your account or identity.
The content of payslip PDFs you choose to import, sent temporarily to our AI processing service to extract payslip data. This data is used only for that extraction request and is not retained by the AI provider after processing.
Feedback, bug reports, and feature requests you submit (name, email, reason, and message), stored in Firebase so we can respond to you.

No payslip or financial data is ever permanently stored on third-party servers.

Third-Party Services

CloudKit by Apple

All payslip data, profile information, and visa information is stored in your own private iCloud database via Apple CloudKit. Only you — through your Apple ID — can access this data. The developer has no access to your private CloudKit data.

Firebase Firestore by Google

The Friends feature uses Firebase Firestore to store your public profile (friend code, display name, avatar emoji, and total counted days), so other users can find and add you as a friend. Firestore is also used to anonymously store employer details you add (name, address, postcode, industry, and ABN — excluding personal contact information), building a shared, community-verified list of employers for other users checking visa eligibility, and to store feedback, bug reports, and feature requests you choose to submit (name, email, reason, and message), so we can respond to you. No payslip or financial data is ever stored in Firebase.

Anthropic

When you import a payslip via PDF, the text content of that document is sent to Anthropic's API to automatically extract payslip data (hours, pay, dates, employer). This data is used only to fulfill the extraction request and is processed in accordance with Anthropic's API data usage policies. Anthropic does not use API-submitted data to train its models by default.

Data Retention

iCloud data (payslips, profile, visa information) is retained until you delete the app's iCloud data from Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage, or until you delete your iCloud account.

Firebase Friends data (friend code, display name, avatar emoji, days progress) is retained until you manually remove your friend profile within the app or submit a deletion request by email.

Feedback and support requests (name, email, reason, and message) are retained until you submit a deletion request by email.

AI processing data (payslip PDF content) is not retained after the extraction request is completed.

The developer retains no server-side logs or analytics data.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information:

All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS, enforced by Apple App Transport Security (ATS)
iCloud data is encrypted by Apple at rest and in transit
Data stored on your device is protected by iOS data protection and is encrypted when your device is locked
Your private iCloud data is accessible only to your authenticated iCloud account — the developer cannot read it
Payslip data sent for AI processing is transmitted over encrypted connections and not retained after processing

Your Choices & Rights

You have full control over your data:

Delete payslips: You can delete individual payslip records directly within the app
Delete iCloud data: You can delete all synced data from Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Storage
Delete Firebase Friends data: You can remove your friend profile within the app, or email us at support@your88days.it to request deletion
Delete feedback data: You can email us at support@your88days.it to request deletion of feedback or support requests you've submitted

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or another region with applicable data protection laws, you may have additional rights, including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us at support@your88days.it to exercise these rights.

Children's Privacy

Your 88 Days is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at support@your88days.it and we will take steps to delete it.

International Transfers

Your data may be processed outside your country of residence. iCloud data is processed by Apple in Apple-managed data centers worldwide. Firebase Friends data and feedback data are processed by Google Cloud, primarily in the United States and European Union. Payslip data sent for AI processing is processed by Anthropic in the United States. Apple, Google, and Anthropic maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
